This week we’re pleased to introduce our first guest blogger and a great student of The Social Adviser, David Rae.
David is a Senior Wealth Adviser at Beames and Associates, and in this post, he has put together a list of people that he believes you should be following on Twitter (a great start for anyone in the Financial Services industry wishing to dip their toes in the Twitter waters).
Attendees of the first AdviserEdge in February will recall David’s story about how he changed a client’s life by being connected to them on Twitter. With such an inspirational story and a genuine ambition to deliver for his clients, we personally recommend you follow him on Twitter (@1DaveRae).
To find out more about Twitter and to access our step-by-step guide to using this often misunderstood but incredibly powerful platform, check out our YouTube video here.
We hope you enjoy his blog post.

When I was getting started in social and digital media, most of what I learned came from checking out what others were up to. For any financial adviser, this list will open up a world full of learning opportunities and give you a head start. Other professionals or business owners will also find ideas from these innovators that are easily transferable to what you are doing.
No doubt there are plenty more names that could be added to this list. Here I have compiled who has had the biggest influence on me as started out on my journey. A huge thanks to all those below – some I’m sure don’t even know they have helped. You guys rock!!
Follow the links on their Twitter bio to find more of their groundbreaking stuff.
